High Security Registration Plate (HSRP)

What is HSRP?

High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) are aluminum license plates affixed with two non-reusable snap locks. They feature a blue Ashoka Chakra hologram on the top left, and a 12-digit permanent ID number (PIN) laser-branded on the bottom left.

The numerals and alphabets have a hot-stamped film with ‘INDIA’ at a 45-degree angle, denoting state, district, and vehicle ID. The plate is also electronically linked to the vehicle where it is installed.

Key features of HSRP

Reflective Sheeting

The HSRP will feature top-grade retro-reflective sheeting that is both laminated and embossed. This sheeting ensures outstanding visibility during the day and offers exceptional reflectivity at night, allowing the vehicle to be seen from a minimum distance of 200 meters in low-light conditions.

Laser Identification Code

Located on the left-hand side, just below the "IND" inscription, is the laser-engraved Sequential Identification Code for individual license plates nationwide. Positioned beneath the top layer of the reflective sheet, it is impervious to erasure. This unique code is linked to the specific vehicle's information in the Government's database, aiding in plate authentication and ensuring its authenticity.

Chromium Hologram

Prevents counterfeiting. The chromium-based holograms are hot-stamped onto the registration plate, designed to endure various weather conditions for numerous years. These holograms feature the 'CHAKRA' image as officially designated by the Government of India.

Embossed Characters with Security Inscript

The embossed alphanumeric characters and borders are imprinted using a distinct black-colored foil with the inscription 'INDIA'. There is no requirement for additional painting or screen-printing of the registration plate after applying this specialized foil. This foil enhances security measures against counterfeiting.

Third License Plate sticker

Third License Plate sticker on wind screen: This is a self-destructive, adhesive sticker with Chromium based hologram which is pasted on wind screen. It contains all information pertaining to a vehicle like: Name of the Registering Authority, Registration Number, Chassis Number, Engine Number, Front and Rear Laser ID code

Snap Lock

The snap lock serves as an external fastening mechanism, supplanting the conventional bolting method for attaching the License Plate to the vehicle body. Once the HSRP is affixed with the snap lock, it cannot be detached unless the snap lock is deliberately damaged or destroyed.
